We're proud to present a free screening of the student documentaries from this fall's "Marine Science" Documentary Film Camp in cooperation with the Clearwater Marine Aquarium.

A maximum of 20 students ages 13 to 18 participated in the six-week camp at the aquarium, which taught students about filmmaking as well as marine science.

Come see their efforts on Saturday, Nov. 22, at 7 p.m. at the aquarium, located at 249 Windward Passage, Clearwater.

Because the screening is after-hours, there is no admission to the aquarium.

If you can't join us on Saturday, you'll have another chance to catch these films at the 2015 Sunscreen Film Festival in St. Petersburg in the spring.

The Tampa Theatre, the Sunscreen Film Festival, Fangoria magazine and Fandomonium in Tampa Bay are proud to present a special Nov. 15 late-night screening of a local film that unites brutal revenge, hedonistic hippie culture, bizarre rituals, weird sex, and other hallmarks of grindhouse horror flicks.

The Sunscreen Film Festival is organized and presented by the St. Petersburg-Clearwater Film Society Inc., a nonprofit 501(c)(3) charity dedicated to education, economic development, informing the public about the art of visual storytelling, enhancing opportunities for local filmmakers to develop their craft and art, and increasing the public’s awareness and support of local filmmaking as a cultural and economic asset.

The festival has grown from a gathering in a St. Petersburg, Fla., art gallery with 600 attendees in 2006 to a nationally recognized event sponsored by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences with an annual attendance of more than 11,000 people. Our guests participate in workshops, classes, and other educational programming that supports the festival's mission.
