Tony Armer – Executive Director
Tony Armer is a graduate of Eckerd College with a degree in Business Management. He currently owns and operates two video production companies, Surgical Videos Inc. and SEV Inc. He has produced or directed several short films, television pilots and feature films in the St. Petersburg/Clearwater area. He has held the Executive Director position with the Film Society since inception in September 2005.
Cameron Cox
J. Declan Flynn
J. Declan Flynn is a writer, producer and director with exceptional visualization skills, formed by his inborn, artistic abilities, and formal training as a fine artist. Declan began his journey as a filmmaker with his first film; a three-dimensional, animated short in 1996, and has acted as assistant director, director, and producer on many short-films and feature films throughout the Tampa Bay area.
Declan is a native of Paterson, New Jersey, now enjoying his twenty-fifth year as a resident of Clearwater, with his wife of nineteen years, Dr. Della Flynn, and his two teenage daughters. Declan’s newest endeavor, Filmbridge, extends his desires to write, produce and direct his own feature-length narrative content. Declan’s singular goal is to perfect his craft as a storyteller and director.
Glenn Goldberg
Glenn Goldberg is an attorney extraordinaire based in St. Petersburg, Florida and New York City, specializing in real estate, business transactions, entertainment law and the representation of the creative community. He loves film and has supported the performing arts in Pinellas County for many years. This is Glenn's third year with the Sunscreen Film Festival.
Kimberly Heath-Carrico
Kimberly is the CEO/President of Creative Media Consultants, Inc. She assists the film community in many different aspects such as Film Funding, Location Management, Consulting, Distribution, Syndication, Television, Studio Location and Acquisition, Satellite Uplinks, Technologies Consulting and offers Industry specific Educational Seminars.
Kimberly has been a resident of St. Petersburg since 1972 and is known for her support of charities such as All Childrens Hospital, Parc, McClain Incorporated, The People that Love Mission, CASA and has participated in the Breast Cancer 3-day for several years.
Kimberly is in her 2nd year with Sunscreen Film Festival. She has 2 children - Samantha, 13, and Kenneth, 19.
Doug Illman
Doug Illman opened his club, Harry O’s, on the first day of the Sundance Film Festival in 1998. After several years in Park City, Illman left Utah in search of new horizons, eventually settling in St. Petersburg, Florida. He is currently preparing to open De Santo, a 200-seat Latin American bistro on Third Street South in St. Petersburg.
Corey Janney
Corey Janney has been involved in many aspects of the St. Petersburg community for nearly a decade. Founding Plush Salon and Gallery in 2000, Plush Productions in 2002, and most recently Plush Realty. Corey has been instrumental in the revitalization of downtown St. Petersburg. Her support and appreciation of local artists and cultural events is what lead to her involvement in the St. Petersburg/Clearwater Film Society the Sunscreen Film Festival. Corey lives in St. Petersburg with her daughters Adeline and Sophia, and enjoys spending her weekends cheering on their soccer team, the Pink Lightning.
Derek Miner – Co-Director
Derek Miner is a graduate of the University of Central Florida with a degree in Radio-Television production. At UCF, Derek programmed films with the Campus Activities Board for two years. He has experience as a published feature writer and film critic and is also a freelance video editor. He is currently working wtih ION Media Networks in Largo, FL. He has held the Co-Director position with the Film Society since inception in September 2005.
Sam Talari
Sam studied Computer Science and Mathematics at the University of New Hampshire, Engineering at the University of Lowell (University of Massachusetts) and has a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and a Masters in Finance.
Over the last twenty-years, Sam has managed several high-tech companies, starting FutureTech Capital in 2001, sharing his vision, knowledge, and abilities with entrepreneurs around the world. With the help of skilled-partners, advisors, and affiliated fund managers, FutureTech Capital successfully turned an initial investment of $500k into $75 million (FT Fund I). Sam is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Muse River Entertainment in Clearwater, Florida.
Tom Thompson
Tom formed the advertising and marketing firm, Digital Stormfront in 2001, where he developed award-winning and profitable campaigns for such industry giants as International Speedway Corporation, Princess Cruise Lines, Amtrak, and Anschutz Entertainment Group. In 2004, Tom created Cinelight Studios as a stand-alone production company for his commercial and industrial film work. In 2005, he began to shift his focus to television programming and feature films.
Tom has guided his newest venture, Muse River Entertainment, through the development and production of the feature film Waste of Space - a made-for-television comedic sci-fi adventure - and a pilot for Counter Intelligence - a situation-comedy involving a low-level Homeland Security office.
